how long do your anxiety symptoms last
« on: January 30, 2014, 11:08:35 PM »
Hello, I am very new here. I had been diagnosed with anxiety a cpls yrs ago. I did some therapy and took some meds and was doing really well. I had weaned myself from the meds and was able to discontinue therapy, with the approval of my therapist and dr.( this was late August and September). Well I have relapsed and it is much worse this time. I have started back to therapy, and started taking Lexapro. But to my question, how long have your anxiety symptoms hung around after a full blown "freak out"?  I.e. aching muscles,  dizziness, fog brain etc.....

Some people can get over them quicker than others. But it can be like you are strung out after an attack. Can last a whole day. At times even into the next day. But for some it can last for hour and they are gone. I think it can depend on how bad the attack was. The worse might make the left over effects last that bit longer. But always remember, they are only a series of feelings. They will always go away. No matter how bad they might feel.

Welcome to anxietyzone. All of us are different, so it is hard to say. For example, if you
get a cold, symptoms last longer in some people more than others.
