In the last year and a half I have convinced myself I've had brain cancer, mouth cancer, throat cancer, liver cancer (my current worry), leukemia, lymphoma, meningitis, brain aneurysm, MS, Parkinson's, early-onset Alzheimer's (I'm 20), schizophrenia, and a handful of other, smaller diseases. Some of these I had myself so convinced of, I actually cried.

Where do I even begin?

This past year: stomach cancer, colon cancer, anal cancer, pancreatic cancer, als, ms, leukemia, and every once and awhile ovarian cancer

In actuality what I've been diagnosed with: kidney stones, a hemorrhoid, and gastritis from a surprise acid reflux diagnosis (i think i had silent reflux for awhile and its just now reared its ugly head). I am also in the process of figuring out if i suffer from tmj or not as my jaw/ears have been killing me and it can agitate reflux and my on going stomach issues.

My problem is because I actually get diagnoses (kidney stone and not pancreatic cancer or a hemorrhoid and not colon cancer) I have trouble telling myself that my symptoms are mostly all in my head. Which 95% of them are!

Heart Attack; colon, breast, brain, and liver cancer; hantavirus, stroke, leukemia
Fears have been triggered by real symptoms confirmed by doctors
HA-I have heart palps and MVP
Cancers-had rectal bleeding...from a hemorrhoid, lump on breast was scanned today and is a cyst, anytime I get a headache it's brain cancer, I had an ultrasound to scan a lump in my abdomen. That is when they found a hemangioma in my liver. One ct scan later it was in fact a benign lesion.
Hantavirus- I was cleaning a large shed with lots of old mouse poop and dust. No symptoms but scared I exposed myself to it.
Stroke-anytime my Arm or leg falls asleep at night or if I get a headache.
Leukemia-anytime I am extra tired or right before an annual blood test, which is coming up in a few weeks.

Forgot ovarian cancer...anytime my self diagnosed IBS flares up or I ovulate, it's ovarian cancer.

- MS (don't think i'll ever move past this one completely)
- brain tumor (this is my big one at the moment)
- blood clot (one of the scariest by far)
- lupus (a recurring one)
- sinus cancer (i have chronic sinusitis so i'm almost always anxious about this)
- inflammatory breast cancer
- carcinoid syndrome
- colon cancer
- schizophrenia (this was more of an OCD obsession of mine but for a good seven months i was in a CONSTANT state of panic and dread over having this)
- melanoma
- sepsis
- ovarian cancer
- brain amoebas
- HIV (had this fear as early as nine years old)
- TB
- glaucoma
- heart attacks
- kidney failure
- rabies
- meningitis
- diabetes

and probably a million more.

...seeing all of these listed out makes me realize exactly how much time i've wasted. this is kind of a huge eye-opener. wow.

This past year I have thought:
Stroke
Brain Tumor
MS
- All of these were basically resolved with a head MRI
leukemia/lymphoma
- Had my blood drawn COUNTLESS times
Ovarian Cancer (still in this phase)
-Even after a clean Ultrasound
Pancreatic Cancer(really fixated on this one right now, been to GI doc four times in last month, he is sure it isn't PanCan, I was diagnosed with duodenitis and gastritis however after an endoscopy)

This is horrible and I need it to END! I am in therapy and taking fluoxetine but so far nothing is helping. I am 23, feel like I am in my 70s!

This thread makes me feel both sad and less alone at the same time.

I recently thought I had gastroparaesis. In the past- heart attack (several times), diabetes, ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts, MS

I spent a lot of time just thinking I was unwell without being able to self diagnose. I figured it would be something obscure and deadly though.

I can remember even when I was young (maybe 10) that I had parasites after seeing something about it on tv.

Let's see I'm 17 and know my HA comes from post traumatic due to fact of having two open heart surgeries as a kid. I've had HA for a year so far and what I've come across are
- brain tumor (BIGGEST FEAR)
- brain cancer
- testicular cancer
- heart attack

I'm seriously thinking about getting help soon.

Infective endocarditis
Dementia
Bipolar disorder
Heart attack
Abdominal aortic aneurysm

I've been doing better the past few days but I think what drives the thoughts is the obsessive nature. When you think about something all the time, you begin to fear it or believe it. I am not sure if I am afraid of the thoughts or the actual disorders more, but I've been very forgetful lately and its kind of bugging me. I haven't even been able to concentrate on my university assignments or classes, despite being in a slightly "better" mood.

Over the last year or so I've convinced myself I've had these.

Brain tumor
Heart attack
Stroke
Ovarian cancer
MS
Vertigo
Brain hemorrhage
Kidney failure
Diabetes
Jaw cancer
UTI

Safe to say that I don't have any of these. But being caught up in the moment of thinking I have these diseases are the absolute worst. As I'm sure all of you understand. And I have to admit about a week afterwards of thinking I have these I do tend to feel like such a fool for even thinking I had them. I just really hate the intense fear, panic, and anxiety they bring in that moment where all logical thinking goes out the window.
