Embarrassing, but Concerning Problem
« on: January 27, 2014, 06:49:42 AM »
Hey, me again! Hypochondria is fun, is it not? :D

Well, I'm here this time because a rather embarrassing problem is occurring lately. This is not an easy thing to talk about for me, but here goes I guess. ~_~

So, on to the problem I've been worried about. I'm not sure when it started, but I don't seem to get spontaneous, or morning erections anymore and I'm worried something might be wrong. I can still get erections when I see or think of something arousing and when I masturbate, but other than that, I don't get them anymore. This may be a silly thing to worry about, but alas, I am. Because everything I know says that this is unhealthy.

I'm a 24 yr old male, a bit overweight because of under active thyroid. I'm taking an all natural supplement for that, which seems to be working. I was also at the doctor's about a week ago but I didn't think to mention it at the time, and he had blood drawn as well. I was also diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder, and Seasonal Affective Disorder. My anxiety, my SAD, comes in the winter months, so I'm still in an SAD phase. So I'm wondering if my anxiety issues, and my worrying is perhaps causing this issue?

I would think that as long as you're still able to get an erection then you're fine.

If it were ED, you would have trouble at other times, too.

Your Thyroid may be playing havoc with some things.  If you can still get an erection with just mental images you are doing good.

don't obsess about it, either.  not good for stress and this sort of thing

I don't always wake with erections in the morning. I know it is healthy to experience nocturnal penile tumescence but I don't think it necessarily has to be every morning and specifically when you wake. You could be experiencing nocturnal penile tumescence during sleep. In which case it is healthy. And like what has been previously stated, if you can get them other times, then no worries!
