Migraines
« on: January 26, 2014, 05:37:05 PM »
Does anybody else here get migraines? I've had them... probably since I was 6 or 7. However, recently (the past few years) my anxiety has gotten much worse and causes muscle tension in my neck, back, and shoulders which inevitably leads to a migraine at least once a week. Most of the common remedies (Excedrin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc) don't work and the one time I tried Imitrex it made my throat/airways constrict, tried depakote, no effect. Since I don't have any medical insurance or spare money at this time, can anyone recommend some homeopathic headache/migraine remedies?

I do get them here and there i find the only relief is when I'm sleeping. Also a cool wash cloth on the forehead.

Sometimes muscles in the neck being out of place can be the cause of some headaches... Make sure you drink plenty of water.... Sometimes going to a good chiropractor can help

I go to a chiropractor, he does some tricks to keep the migraine away. He's amazing.
If hes not available I use migraine tablets or nasal spray. I don't know what they are called here, but in Norway they are named Imigran or maxalt.

I get migraines. ibuprofen and excedrine taken early enough can mitigate most of it.

As for homeopathic remedies... Its probably best you not put your faith in magic.

I've gotten migraines. Since Prozac, I rarely get them now.

When I do, I lay down with ice on my neck and forehead.

In the past I've had acupuncture for them and it worked instantly.

I used to get headaches daily during high school.  not so much anymore, even during stressful times in college.  I think they were from lack of food or water because I stupidly never ate breakfast.  usually aspirin and a heating pad is what gets rid of any I have.  cold things just make them worse for some reason.
