Increase in prozac dose
« on: January 26, 2014, 10:57:02 AM »
I was on 20 mg of prozac for 7 weeks with no luck and the doctor upped it to 40 mg a week and a half ago and I still haven't noticed any changes. I'm starting to fear that the med will not work for me and I am desperate for it to work. I will give it more time but just feeling low I guess

It usually takes 3-12 weeks for antidepressants to kick-in so it is still too early to tell if Prozac is the right med for you. Increasing the dose won't speed this up by much.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all advice is of a general nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.
