Getting more and more concerned about Esophageal Cancer
« on: January 23, 2014, 08:40:10 PM »
I cant tell if I am just having a bad bout of GERD anymore or if something more sinister is happening. Normally with my reflux I get really bad bloating and nausea after I eat; but as of late I am having problems swallowing and getting that feeling like food is getting caught in my throat. My voice is becoming hoarse on and off through out the day and I have been getting bad pain sharp pain my back under the shoulder blades. I have also lost about 5-6 pounds in the last two weeks. I am only 28, rarely drink and have a cigar once, maybe twice a month during the summer/fall.

Yeah I get that sometimes; I rarely get actual heartburn from it. Mostly nausea and feeling full and bloated quickly after eating, asthma is a big one, hoarse voice, dry cough, hiccups, sometimes a sour taste in my mouth.

Those are all symptoms of GERD. Are you taking any meds for GERD such as Prilosec?

Yeah, I am on 30mg of Prevacid. I am also drinking a ton of Ginger tea and taking DGL supplements.

How about lifestyle modifications? Cutting out caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, and working on stress reduction?
