Is it normal not being able to think when you have to go?
« on: January 23, 2014, 05:53:40 PM »
I hate that whenever I have the urge to urinate I'm completely unable to think straight. I can't watch my movie, listen to a song, read a book, or study. I like to consider myself someone who likes to think so this is really depresses me because I literally can not think at all when I have to go.  >:(

You might just be over thinking. Honestly. I've had a few things that became problematic as I was getting used to this wonderful  :laugh3: anxiety in my life. I went through a bout of having swallowing problems, even went on a no solids diet for two weeks, after felt like a pill got stuck going down. After that every time I went to swallow solids I would start worrying or fearing I would choke, and surprisingly enough I did a few times, but I think it was from me tightening my neck muscles from stress.
Did you notice this unique issue and now it's never ending? Or was it an issue in your life before. I would imagine it's most likely just anxiety messing with your mind. Maybe just try going with the flow, as they say, and using the rest room when the urge arises and then worry about focusing on things after. Woot.

Well, when you have primal bodily functions that need tending to, higher-order cognitive functions become less important to the brain. get up and go and be done with it and you're set.

I don't care for when I am stuck in traffic or in an airplane and I have to pee.
