Headache for 3 weeks now
« on: January 23, 2014, 05:04:51 PM »
Actually, a little more than 3 weeks. Ever since I had the flu around New Year's, I have had this headache. My neck is also stiff. The headache is across my forehead. Pain relievers help it a little, but I've stopped taking NSAIDs yesterday, and the headache really hurts today. Kind of freaking me out, since I'm not one to usually get headaches. But it definitely started when I first got sick with the flu, so it has to be related, right?

Sounds like it settled in the sinuses and is stubbornly staying there.   Many people end up with sinus infections after colds, so I would imagine being that a flu is a "cold on steroids" it is highly possible sinus infections can develop after a flu too.  ANYTHING that produces mucus (allergies too!)

Last year I had this same problem! What helped me was to stop all pain meds, as I think I was giving myself rebound headaches. I gave up caffeine. And I stopped worrying about them. I was so worried I would get a headache, thT I would tense up, and cause a headache!
