« on: January 23, 2014, 08:40:55 AM »
Has anyone ever been afraid of a disease and then get it in their dream? I had a dream the other night where a doctor actually told me I had breast cancer, I have heard stories where woman have had a dream and it turned out they had it.

I have had this on several occasions over several years. So far, nothing has come of it, but it certainly exacerbates my anxiety.

Ugh. I can sometimes have very vivid/realistic dreams. I had one where it was all dark and gloomy and I was telling people I have cancer and that I just new I had it all along!

I'm horrified of cancer

It's hard because I can't remember the full dream and I keep trying and driving myself crazy!

I'm sure this happens a lot with us anxious folks. When we spend pretty much every waking hour thinking about something, it's not really a surprise that it would invade our dreams too.

Had a dream last month where I had costochondritis
I don't actually have costochondritis I've never had any fears about my heart
I guess there's that fact where you can only see faces in dreams you've seen before maybe it's the same with diseases you've heard of before
Dreams can't diagnose us :)

I dream that I have heart problems all the time. I am constantly wondering if I am dreaming this way because my body is trying to tell me something or if I have these dreams because I spend a lot of my waking hours worried about my heart.... This is a big source of anxiety for me.

Well mine's a bit different. I had a dream that i was arguing with my mom and telling her all my problems (like i had enough!) I yelled at her that I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma and then she said... No, you're fine.

It's kinda weird but at the end my mom said "No, you are fine"

I think our dreams are representing that it's all just anxiety. As far as i know, if you are obsessed of something (in a good way, or bad way) It can sometimes invade into our dreams.
