So I'm 26 and had a colonoscopy about two and a half months ago. I was given the medicine in an IV and was out. The next thing I know I'm waking up to my husband in the recovery area. I guess my gastroenterologist came in and talked to him (I don't remember it) and said everything was normal and there was nothing found. He said he took 3 biopsies and I got a letter in the mail saying everything was normal.
I've read that most people pass a lot of gas afterwards and/or have gas pains.
I did not have any of that, and I'm wondering if they really even did the procedure. At the time my gastro seemed hesitant to do a colonoscopy because I am so young and had only been having diarrhea for 2.5 weeks - but I was sure that I had colon cancer, so I pushed for it, and he ordered it and performed it himself.
Anyway, I guess that's just whats going through my head tonight. Wondering if they even did the colonoscopy in the first place.
