Touched dog poop
« on: January 16, 2014, 10:59:04 AM »
I worry about really dumb things.

We have a new puppy. We got her 3 weeks ago. She had been tested (negative) for parasites/ worms but was wormed anyhow.  When we took her in for her booster shots, she was wormed again.  At the next visit, wormed again. She's parasite free and had all her shots and is now about 12 or 14 weeks old.

Hubby was home with her when I went to church last night and didn't walk her.  Today I was moving a baby gate and got a handful of dried and mushy poop from where she'd pooped behind the gate he'd put aside.  I cleaned it up with an old rag and antibacterial soap, washed my hands numerous times, cleaned under my nails twice and used an aersol surgical scrub I had from a surgery and it will kill MRSA in 5 seconds.

STILL worried about this!  No cuts or open spots on my hand and I'm positive the puppy is healthy after all her doc visits and shots.

Help calm me down!

I wouldn't worry about it at all! You washed your hands after really well, and your puppy seems to be very healthy. I guess it comes with the territory when we have dogs, cats. I've picked up my fair share of doggy doo, even other peoples dogs, and nothing bad has ever happened to me.  :happy0151: I think you will be just fine! Puppies are awesome

Thank you so much!  I'm sure I have, too, over the years but that was before anxiety took over my life!

Thanks Betty. I'm sure I have too!  Today was just one of those days!

Had my ID stolen 2 times if four days and was going to be overdrawn until my 19 year old stepped in and loaned me $25 until the bank could refund the debit charge.  My boss refuses to replace the check that was stolen in the mail...... and that was for the whole month of December!!!  Lots going on with sheriff deputies, viewing film footage of the man using my card in a Kroger, swearing affidavits because the bank who allowed the person to deposit my paycheck with no signature and no ID won't give up the account holder's name......  Well, puppy poop just threw me over the edge!
