Neck tightness!!

I have been plagued with neck/throat tightness on both sides that intensifies in the middle under thyroid. Doesn't hurt to swallow but is very tight and sore to touch. Makes me worry about
Breathing.

I've been having this too, recently. My left shoulder and left side of my neck get extremely tight. Moving around hurts, and I hate having to walk around a lot (such as in a supermarket) when it hurts that bad.

However, I can't imagine anyone has ever died because their neck muscles got so tight they weren't able to breathe. We'll be fine.

Oh yeah, I can breathe fine. Just feels like I'm being suffocated. That artery where you check your pulse is sore all the way down and super sensitive to touch. Back and upper neck muscles are tight as well but doesn't bother me as much because it doesn't give me the suffocating feeling

give some of those relaxation apps on your phones a try....plug in the earphones and relax and follow the commands....they are great for relaxing tight muscles!

Do a search for HoMedics Neck massager with heat.   It's around $20 (I got mine 50% off after Christmas) and it pays for itself.   I never knew how much tension I kept in my neck and shoulders until I used it, and it works WONDERS.

Hey OP, my neck and that artery (left side) get mega-tight on me too. It's so annoying! I've been told that tight neck is a lot about stress posture and shallow breathing, so the tips to focus of relaxation should help in both ways. Dedicated deep breathing time everyday and continually check on your breathing to catch your shallow breathing and just might be helpful. I struggle with it, but people swear by it.
I also stretch my neck out as much as possible which is heaps painful, but does seem to help.
