Hi Chantelle, how ironic!! I also had an allergic reaction to an anti-biotic that I took for a UTI! It happened back in 1998. It was a sulpha drug. I had hives all over---even on my ears and feet! I remember being in the shower feeling as though I couldn't breath, and almost blacked out. I got over that horrible reaction, but at the time I was working at a deli (family owned) and was told I had to get the Hepatitis A vaccine if I wanted to continue working there. I was so afraid to get it because of the allergic reaction I had to the anti-biotic, I just kept putting it off. But eventually, with much coaxing by the people at work, I got it, and was fine.
I can definitely understand your fear now because I felt the same fear.
I can't really tell you to get the vaccine or not because it is your choice, but for me I guess it's just a chance I'm willing to take to avoid catching the flu.
Best of luck :)
