Guillain-Barré worries
« on: January 12, 2014, 08:28:27 PM »
The night after I got the flu shot, I had a MAJOR (painful!!) charlie horse in my right calf. The left one is fine. It's been 2 days since the flu shot, but my calf is still sore, and I'm going into panic mode thinking I am going to develop Guillain-Barré.

Help? :(

Oops, I forgot to mention a few things:

1. every so often I feel like I'm "falling" for a split second. I'm thinking it has to do with weaker leg muscles, but I'm not sure.
2. there are some twitches in my legs (calves and thighs)
3. I feel like my hands aren't doing 100% of what I want them to do, though that could be psychosomatic.

I'm hoping the lack of comments means I'm being 100% ridiculous!

Just relax, your symptoms will probably go away in a few days.  Guillain Barre, as far as I know reacts a little more intensely and quickly than you are explaining.  Sometimes flu shots cause little side effects for a couple of days.  You will be fine.
