Dirty grapes...yes, that's what I said..
« on: January 08, 2014, 09:19:48 AM »
So, yesterday our well froze and we had no water. I had poured some grapes in a bowl before I realized there was no water to wash them. I put then in the fridge so I could wash them later !!! (MISTAKE)!!!!

My babysitter got home with my kids and they ATE the dirty grapes. I can't see how they didn't notice...they were filthy!!

Anyways my 4 year old is throwing up today. And in trying not to think with HA brain...but I can't help but think of what might have been on those grapes!!

There is a stomach bug going on in the area we live. No one else that ate the grapes is sick yet.

Food borne illness....SHUDDER!!!

As a mom, I understand your worry completely. I would imagine if it was a food related illness all the kids that ate them would be sick. Did you say just 1 of the kids are sick?

I guess it wouldn't hurt to call their pediatrician for peace of mind, if anything. They will be able to explain more of what to look for. Also, at least for me, it helps calm me down just knowing the doctor is aware of the issue.

Hope your baby feels better soon!

You're right, at least speaking with the DR. Will probably help me calm down a bit.

The babysitter and my 8 year old ate the grapes too and they aren't sick as of now.

I wouldn't normally hope for my baby to have a virus...but right now, that's a better option than some food borne thing :(

If they are both doing fine, then virus is the likely cause. Don't be too hard on yourself about leaving the grapes in the fridge. Us moms feel way too much guilt. Go ahead and call the pedi for some peace of mind. I'm sure your baby is just fine! :happy0151:

Thank you.

You're right about the guilt. I keep thinking of all the things I should have done...put them back in the bag, call the sitter to tell her...ect, ect

Ugh...well, thanks for talking me down anyways :)
