Coughed up blood.. not much.. but still..
« on: January 08, 2014, 12:47:16 AM »
So how do I put it? This morning I woke up, and I was coughing a lot. Then some mucus came up and bam, so did some blood.. i'm pretty worried about it.. No I haven't seen a doctor about it. I'll see the doctor if it happens again, other then that. I feel fine.. Lung function is pretty normal. No signs of an infection or anything.

Some back story I recently switched brands, from Camels to Pall Malls. I'm broke had no choice.. I have this feeling that switched brands is apart of it, but other then that. I don't know. I'm freaked the ***** out right now :/

Anyone have any ideas or questions?

Personally, I would contact the doctor about that.  Coughing up blood doesn't isn't an anxiety symptom and you should get checked out by a qualified professional.  Let us know how you make out.

If there was just a little blood, it can happen from burst capillaries lining your throat and it can be brought on by coughing, irritation, etc.
I wouldn't be very worried, but wait and see if it happens again, how much blood there is, etc.

How much blood are we talking? In dry cold weather or during the changing seasons my allergies and sinuses can do a number on my throat, making it very scratchy and it also dries up the inside of my nose. You do smoke, though, so I'd probably get it checked out by a doctor just in case.

My #1 rule for HA: if it's blood, causes a lot of pain, or produces something completely abnormal that shouldn't happen: go see a doctor or go to the ER.

less then a teaspoon and stopped shortly afterwords. I did just move to Arizona. And yes i do smoke. Plus it's allergy season.. no pains. or anything out of the normal, that's why i didn't go to the doctor right away..

My mom was a longtime smoker and said that Pall Mall's are really strong. I would try to cut back and go to your regular brand. It would be good to also have your throat/lungs checked in case you have an irritation from the new brand.
