Larnyx / throat cancer worries
« on: January 07, 2014, 11:16:50 PM »
I've had a hoarse voice and throat pain for over two weeks now. An ENT stuck a tube trough my nose down my throat (think it's called an upper laryngoscopy)
Would this has showed cancer already? He thinks it's laryngital reflux. But I'm convinced about cancer.
He would of knew if it was cancer from that test right?

Also, will a neck ultrasound reveal this cancer as well?

Both a laryngoscopy and an ultrasound can show things that might be suspicious of being cancer. Only a biopsy of said suspicious thing will show if you actually have cancer. I know it's scary but your much more likely to have hoarseness from LPR which you have been diagnosed with. As you know, I have LPR as well and deal with hoarseness from time to time.
