fear of palps
« on: January 01, 2014, 10:18:06 PM »
Does it make sense to have more breathing issues and heart palpitations in the Winter? I had this same issue last Winter but that included multiple panic attacks. The palps and shortness of breath mess with my head. I'm hoping its just stress/anxiety related.

My ha started off with palps and escalated from there. I've been going through CBT therapy for a few months and now my fear is on other things not my heart. My therapist says you cannot die from a fast heart rate, the most likely reason why you think this is not because you are having more palps in winter but you are more focused on it. In summer I presume you tend to be more busy and more out and about compared to winter. So if your bored and suddenly get thoughts in your head about your heart rate it automatically goes quicker. 9/10 people who suffer actually have a normal heart rate and the only time it is raised is when you think about it. I hope that makes sense but I don't think you have more in winter your just more focused on your body
