Happy New Year to all! I have not been on this forum in months and I wanted to come back and share how much better I am and perhaps offer some hope. I won't rehash my entire story...you can look back through my past posts and see what my deal was...but basically I had severe hypochondria. It was so bad I was not living any more. My world was getting smaller and smaller and my marriage was suffering because of the stress I was bringing into the house.
The change occurred when I just became fed up with living this way. I began a program called "Headspace". It's a year long meditation program and I can honestly say it has changed my life. I am almost five months into the program and the difference is astounding. You start out meditating for ten minutes a day and now I am up to twenty minutes. There's no religious message so you don't have to worry about that. It focuses on mindfulness.
You can find the program on your iPad or iPhone in the app store. It has a monthly charge but it's way cheaper than the drugs and therapy that I was doing that never helped. Am I totally anxiety free each day? No...but I am able to deal with it now and not panic. I have not had a panic attack in months where I had been having them daily.
I would love to know if anyone else is doing this or will do this program! I don't check this forum anymore because it was adding to my anxiety but I will check this thread. Best wishes for healing!
