Chat Room Moderator Needed

Moderation has recently been enabled in the chat rooms. If anyone is interested in volunteering for the position, please let us know in this thread or if you would prefer to do this privately, you are welcome to PM me.

Qualifications:

1# You must already be a member of Anxiety Zone.
2# You must be over the age of 18.
3# You must be a frequent user of the chat rooms and familiar with them.
4# You must be fair, balanced, open-minded, articulate and good-natured.
5# You must know how to Moderate

I have the opportunity to be in Chat during my work day, and at times at night, but could mostly be there during the day when most people are in school or work and can't cover those times.

This has certainly been a great resource for me, knowing others who share a very difficult set of emotional needs, that most of our piers don't understand.

Hello I would be a very excellent moderator. I have my list of rules

• 1: Do not give out important info. Like zip code, phone number, where you live, age and last name.
• 2: Do not harass other members.
• 3: please enjoy you time here.

Well thats my list of rules.

 One time I was in tonyhawk project8 and this guy was harassing this girl so I kicked him out of my game. 

Here is my concluding statement Chat rooms need more moderators. People are getting out of hand like name calling, being raciest and sexual harassment.

Thats why I want to be a moderator.

Hello my name is Shawn, and I am interested in the Moderator position. I am also currently a Moderator for a website called Hot or Not. I am active on my computer EVERYDAY for 8-9 hrs a day. I am also in the Army National Guard and I am about to start collage for my degree in Web Design. I would love a moderator who has real insight into the issues discussed on this site... I'd take that over technical ability any time.  I think people on here need to feel a sense of trust and free of judgment.

I agree with you 150%, and I would love to be the one to give them that. I know the meaning of Anxiety, and would love to be here for people when they are going through one of their mood swings, or just to be here to talk to them when they just want someone to talk to. I feel that I can really give them a safe and free environment to interact with one another, and chat to one another in a relaxed chat room. I will also keep out the ones that think it is funny and picks on another person because they think they are crazy, because their not. So, please just give me a shot. I wont let you down, I promise!

Moderators are appointed based on a number of criteria:

All types of Moderators should...

* Greet new members and make them feel welcome
* Possess good verbal/communication and people skills.
* Be fair, reasonable, measured, consistent and open-minded.
* Be professional and courteous at all times.
* Be active on the forums or chat rooms on a daily basis.
* Have a friendly, supportive disposition.
* Be dependable, responsible and trustworthy.
* Be mature, level-headed and a "hands-on" type of person.
* Be ambitious, motivated and results-oriented.
* Be a good example/role model for other Anxiety Zone members
* Respect other member's privacy (this includes the privacy of any/all administrators, Moderators and members). Use the PM system to discuss sensitive information and only discuss it with the person entitled to know about it.
* Be willing to report spam, solicitations, diffuse problems (when they arise) and play an active role in YOUR community here.
* Be a "team player", willing to keep in touch and collaborate with staff and other Moderators here as the need arises.
* Check the "Show unread posts since last visit" link on a daily basis and lock, move, delete or report posts when appropriate (ie; spam, double posts, troll posts, posts posted in the wrong forums, etc).
* Have been an active member for 4 months and have at least several hundred posts.
