Rapid heartbeats/Heart issues
« on: December 31, 2013, 08:52:09 AM »
So I'm sitting in my room, minding my own business when all of a sudden I get this rush of adrenaline starting from my left foot to my heart and it just immediately goes haywire. I was beating fast and hard as heck and I had to get up and tell my mom to call 911....almost instantly....it went down a bit....rose up again and was all over in a matter of 6 or 7 minutes. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?

Now, I will be completely honest with you all, at the time I had flared up I was reading some rather bad news (It was a news story)

and I had also finished eating a porkchop and cheese fries (........Yes......I know lol) about 45 minutes or so afterwards. Whenever this rapid heartbeat stuff starts my chest NEVER hurts. My arms feel a bit cold and it just beats and pounds away.

About 2-3 minutes after the ordeal my mom checked my Bp (135/75 heart rate was 87) and also my sugar which was 113 if I recall correctly. Im really starting to think that at 25 I have some sort of heart condition........

No heart condition, just a (not) good old fashioned panic attack.  They are scary but harmless and the symptoms are exactly as you described.  Even though they can mimic a heart attack there is no lasting damage if you are otherwise healthy.  I have had these on and off for years and now take Xanax as needed for them.  If they become regular or interfere with your life you may want to talk to your doc about meds or alternative therapies (like deep breathing or meditation) to deal with them.  Hang in there!

Also, I've lost weight since the other day, I've went from 223 to 218  in a day or so. I've eaten once since 7pm yesterday but still that seems like a bit much

You said you had your mother call 911 - what did the paramedics say about it?

I had my mom grab the phone to call them but soon as she was getting ready to dial everything started slowing down. which was weird. NOW I cant eat without having a mini panic attack because my stomach and heart freaks me out while I digest and it flares right back up..Im genuinely afraid I'll never get over this
