Hey guys,

So I have really hit rock bottom this week after doing well for years. Can anyone talk me down here? I noticed a few months ago that I'd see slight arcs of light, like a half-moon or semi-circle in the center of my vision when I moved my eyes in the dark. This is similar to when you rub your eyes and you see lights. I managed to inadvertently google this and it looks similar to what is described as an optic neuritis symptom :(

I'm going to book an appointment with my eye doctor today, hopefully he can get me in to see him quickly. Ugh, this sucks. Does anyone else see anything strange when they move their eyes around in the dark?  :traurig001:

Not really much to say. I can trigger that easily any time. pretty easily actually, ive been doing it since i was a kid, for fun. I can even do it in the daylight, i am right now as im typing this response. its not as easy to stop once it starts, but yeah. Its just your eyes... being eyes.

Thanks Lunatone, I really appreciate that response.

Do you get this when you move your eyes on their own, or just when you rub them with your hands?

I realize this is one of those things that people are shaking their head at, but HA is so insidious for each of us in our own way.

I get this SO badly
I don't have to rub my eyes or anything I just move them and see white flashes, green dots, yellow dots, blobs, colour, etc but only in the dark. I still have floaters and stuff though in light. My visual snow is also more extreme in darkness.

I went to the eye doctors 2 weeks ago I was fine I got a photo of my optic nerve and it was fine. No glasses nothing
I guess it's just one of those things don't worry

Ok, thank you! It's so good to know that others here get it, and have had a clean eye exam. I'm going on Friday so I'll report back then.

I'm curious if you are myopic / nearsighted? I am, and apparently that can cause it.

I wanted to follow up after seeing my eye doctor and having a full, detailed eye exam.

Everything is fine, he said it was just the fluid behind my eyes changing slightly and not to worry. Big relief!

I'm so glad! I was going to reply these things are very common in anxious people. And yep, eyesight changes in time.
