I'm exhausted.
« on: December 30, 2013, 12:41:38 AM »
I'm up almost all night every night lately because all of the stress from the day starts hitting me once I finally lay down and have a chance to relax, so I start getting physical anxiety symptoms and I'm scared to death I'm gonna die in my sleep. So I lay in bed freaking out most of the night.

I'm exhausted. I'm realizing I can't deal with it anymore.

I finally worked up the nerve and called yesterday to make an appointment with the Mental Health Department and they were closed, so I'm calling tomorrow.
It's a step. Hopefully they can help "fix me." I'm tired of feeling like I'm dying every time I feel something. :/

Good for you for taking a big step! Have you tried journaling before laying down? Everything that is racing in your mind may slow down if you put it on paper :) this helps me.  I also write down all of my physical symptoms and rate them from 1-10 on how bad they are and then go back and rate them rationally. Good luck!

Taking this first step is tough, but it's worth it. I was in denial for a long time and avoided it. I finally realized that my anxiety was greatly reducing the quality of my life and got help. I'm still not all the way there yet, but I'm getting a lot better with the help of my therapist and medication!
