Heart skippy beats, palpitations, family drama
« on: December 28, 2013, 12:54:48 PM »
I'm in Texas visiting family and noticed my heart doing this mild sensation of "skipped beats" a few nights ago. I barely noticed it and I do get ectopic beats (especially when I'm stressed out). I had it again today once and I have no other symptoms but a skipped kind of sensation for a second in my chest.

Also last night going to sleep I moved in bed and I felt my heart beat harder (but the same rhythm and no other symptoms) for 3 beats or so and then went back to "normal." It did that twice. Is that from anxiety?

My anxiety is really high right now for family drama reasons and it hasn't been comfortable here. I only arrived last Monday night.

Hi Calamy,

I would say so yes because the same thing happens to me all the time the more stressed I am and the more drama I am around I get anxious and then my heart will flutter, skip, jump, etc..

It is very scary but once we calm down then we realize okay it is anxiety or stress so removing ourselves from stressful situations is the best thing to do but sometimes that isn't possible.. also many things can trigger those to happen .

The more we focus on them the more they happen so try distracting yourself and don't focus on so much on them and yes try to stay away from family drama but we all know every family has drama... Ugh.. I stay hid a lot!! lol

Take care of yourself!

Thanks, PinkIcePrincess. Now today I'm lightheaded and panicking over that. I'm getting adrenaline rushes, taking so many deep breaths and feeling smothered. I'm so tired of this panic spiral. My legs go all hot with panic through me and it's awful.

Anxiety and stress causes all kinds of things to happen like dizziness, shakiness, heart skips,
tachycardia, diarrhea, and the list goes on. I was told to take deep breaths and do isometric exercises
which may help you.
