Things that make you cry..
« on: March 31, 2008, 11:52:45 AM »
Being an HA sufferer this topic was very hard for me to watch it contains some mention of cancer (which most know scares me to death) so please if this is a "Trigger" for you, dont watch.

That being said I think everyone else should watch this. This video reminds me us no matter how bad we think we have it, someone always has it worse. No matter what we "Think" we have...someone else always has it...

This video made me cry and we all know Marines and Men don't cry...enjoy the short video

For me watching this video would do me in. I don't need any more 'what if' situations. (lol)

Having said that, my trigger was , brain cancer, since my dad died of that.

Good therapy and meds has taken that 'trigger' and thrown it in the trash where it belongs.

I'll watch it puller, but I can't here at work.  Wouldn't look good, haha. And half of the websites are blocked anyways. Since cancer doesn't scare me, I don't think it will trigger anything. I already know quite a bit about it since my dad went through it, so I don't think anymore information would hurt. Now if you were talking about the heart, that's a whole other story, haha.

It's funny how things that are just as deadily(cancer) doesn't cause me any worry but the heart does. Doesn't make much sense.

Randy Pausch is really an inspiration.  I read his blog from time to time.  One thing I have read about people with HA is that on the rare occasions when one of us actually does get diagnosed with a disabling or life-threatening illness, we do not react to it the way we imagine we would now, with all this fear and panic and trepidation.  Because the reality of illness is nothing like the fantasy.  I like to think that if we were to face the reality, we all would do so with courage and fortitude.
