If I had something serious, would I have other major symptoms?
« on: December 26, 2013, 07:33:41 PM »
Hi everyone, as you may know, I still cannot seem to wrap my head around my weight loss issues.

I did try to lose weight a few months back for only a few weeks but it seems that I've been losing weight pretty fast.

This is because a lot of people keep telling me that I lost weight. And I mean A LOT.

Funny thing is I don't really feel sick. Well except for the times when another person comments on how I lost weight and that's when I feel anxious and suddenly weak.

I was just wondering if I had something bad, would I have other symptoms that I could not just ignore?

Yes you would. Anxiety can also cause weight loss so if you we're trying to lose weight, anxiety could have sped things up.

extrovert, I just can't seem to accept the fact that I lost so much weight for people to notice.

Yesterday, 3 different people told me that I lost weight. And I think a total of around 20 people have already told me that I did lose weight.

Funny though is that I don't see the difference. The scale is telling me that I keep on losing weight but it's kinda scary.

I'm still overweight and I am scared that there is something really wrong with me. :(

When your anxiety is acting up, wether you notice it or not your heart rate tends to sit higher and if you have panic attacks it's like doing mini cardio sessions all day.... I always lose a lot of weight when my anxiety is up. If your veto concerned that anxiety is not causing it maybe see your dr for a physical to get some reassurance  :winking0008:

Oh, and yes! Chances are if something was seriously wrong you would have other symptoms besides weight loss :)

Thanks Kindra,

It's just that everytime a new person tells me that I lost weight, I feel that I lose MORE weight per day.

How do you personally lose weight unintentionally with your anxiety and stress? C

People notice when someone loses weight and is considered to be a compliment to say it to someone. Therefore...

I could have written your post. What triggered my recent weight loss scare is the fact that many of my friends keep saying That I lost weight.

Now I also do not know how to ultimately shake this worry off. Hang in there.

Extrovert, I know the people who say that I lost weight have good intentions by giving me the compliment. However, all of them do not know what I am going through with my HA. This is just really scary as I have never experienced this many people comment on my weight in a short amount of time. :(

Burgundy, I'll send you a private message.

Loveya, I had a lymph node scare 2 years ago too. It was really horrifying. I am glad for now that I am not experiencing any concerning symptoms that will make me panic. But still, the weight loss comments are frightening as they are.

I had my blood sugar levels checked 2 months ago. It came back fine. I had a stool test done too, it came back fine as well.
