Persistent lymph nodes anyone?
« on: December 22, 2013, 01:20:07 PM »
At my wits end. The holidays are upon me and my mind has jumped from colon cancer to lymphoma. Heres what I've noticed:

Small rubbery node, 1cm right side of neck. 3 years
Small rubbery nodes, 1 cm under jaw 4 of them been there for years
Small, size of a pinpoint, lower left cervical
Small, needle point floaty ball, left supraclavicle
Slightly swollen right tonsil for at least a year (this is really what's freaking me out)

Right armpit: rubbery node 1 cm last two years noticed it
Left armpit: rubbery node .4cm ditto

Groin: soft node, parrallel to scrotum .5cm last 5 months

What the heck is going on? I fear indolent lymphoma. I figure at this stage of the game that's what it would be. Any fellow lymphoma hypos willing to help me out? From where I'm standing it looks bad.

So from what I've read, indolent lymphoma or HIV. Both of which would be pretty rare given my age, sexual history, etc. what about allergies? I've always had bad allergies. I get a cold prob twice a year. The armpit could be from a burn I got on my arm years ago. The groin--a lot of stuff I suppose. I also had mono and shingles as a teen.

If they are small for this long I think you are fine, Apparently 1cm is a normal sized node from what I have heard. My fear is stemming from a 2cm long, 1 cm wide, somewhat hard, moveable, but painless lymph node that I found a month ago, It hasn't grown in the past month but it hasn't gone down in size either, Doc told me not to worry, EASY FOR HIM TO SAY! Haha

I have had about four in similar areas for four years. Got after really bad cold that put me in hospital. The thig my doc always told me was if it's lymphoma you know. It stands out from the moment you see the person. It is never a trivial node. Told my new doc about them and she just nodded that were very normal.

See I have a disease: Peyronie's disease and I'm currently going through a painful flare up and at 27 this is a hard thing to go through. I don't trust my body and it makes me depressed.

Anxiety is like that. I've cycled through ms Lou Gherigs disease brain tumor stomach cancer pancreatic cancer back cancer and lymphoma. Usually the main hallmark is a sudden irrational fear triggered by something in news or life. For me my second grade teacher just died of a brainstem tumor so my mind is on that kick after I got dizzy with an awful sinus congestion. Before that I was worried about which camera to buy. No joke. Anxiety stinks.

For me good sleep with melatonin and lots of exercise usually helps.

I had a lymph node scare before. I had one right behind my ear.

It scared the hell out of me because it was hard. I rushed immediately to the ENT's office.

I was told that it was nothing to worry about. Just. A. Lymph. Node.

He didn't even bother to consider further examinations. :s

If you notice lumps, go see a doctor. But your lumps are there for years without growing! If it was lymphoma, I'd say you would already be dead. Sorry to dissapoint. ;D

Ironic--Extrovert--the Dexter actor had NHL. Anyway, I figure at this point it'd be NHL low follicular or something. Anyone have the stats (might help) of getting this at 27?
