Pulse in ear
« on: December 20, 2013, 01:35:22 PM »
Can anyone hear their pulse in their ear? When I move my head in certain directions, I can hear my heartbeat in my ear... It's freaking me out 😩 I used to get that when I change positions quickly but now I'm getting it more often, usually if I turn my head a certain way... 😞 Is this also anxiety related? Been to an ENT and all he said was that it could be related to my TMJ. Any thoughts?

I can hear my pulse in my ear a lotóalways have. Why does it freak you out?

I'm sure neck/muscle tension could have something to do with it. I find that mine gets worse if I'm dehydratedódon't know why that is, but drinking a glass of water helps.

So too, does not trying to notice it. I've found that when I'm concentrating on a bodily function, it's usually more noticeable.

Haha, I've always been able to hear my pulse in my ear, sometimes I'll notice it more when I'm about to fall asleep which is annoying.  If I don't pay attention to it, it goes away.  I think you're just noticing things way too much, which I totally understand because I do that too!  My first reaction to your post was to laugh and think how silly this seemed and then I remembered how last night I was talking to my husband about how I had a pimple inside my nose and was afraid it would case an infection to go to my brain.  LOLOL, so yeah.  I completely understand how things can get to you.  You're fine, don't worry!

My ENT told me that this is typically nothing to worry about. He said it could be due to
a form of tinnitus, sinus or middle ear issues or the like.

I think that is normal. It happens to me at random times - my husband as well. I do have problems with ringing in my left ear, which is almost always where I hear it.
