lung cancer fear
« on: December 18, 2013, 10:52:09 PM »
Hello,

I went horse riding and then few days I was quite sore including once side on my ribs. The general soreness went away except for my ribs and I have developed a cough. It's been a week and if anything the pain is worse. I noticed I have been feeling quite tired even before horse riding. I'm 29 and have been an on and off smoker since my teens.

I worry because I read lung cancer can spread to the rib bones and cause pain and the horse riding just strained where the cancer is, why it started hurting since.

I dont know the symptoms on LC as I have never googled them, but Im certain it would include more severe symptoms hun, your 29 Im fairly certain lung cancer will not be the cause of your rib pain, possibly a pulled muscle??. . IM SURE YOU ARE FINE ! :P

If you ask me it is still hurting because you have this idea in that head of yours. You are feeding your own fears. I am a smoker too. Just over the flu. Still have a cough. But I am not thinking cancer at all. It is that time of year. People come down with coughs and things like that. If it puts your mind at ease have a test done. Most probably come back negative. But if you do have the test, you have to learn to accept the results. Don't be one of these who imagines that the doctor may have missed something.

Your cough may be just coincidental with your rib soreness, which was due to your riding.
I would call your physician and tell him/her all of your symptoms and concerns.
