Countdown To My Chemical Stress Test
« on: December 12, 2013, 05:20:44 PM »
Waiting for this test has consumed my entire life and now it is looming on me. Its scheduled for Monday so I will post how it goes when I get back. I'm so worried this medicine to speed up my heart will freaking me kill me.

Well, all I can say is that it was horrible. Checked in at 8am and didn't get out until 6pm. The chemical to speed up your heart made me feel like I was having a heart attack. I suppose that I had a panic attack during it. My hands went completely numb. My arm felt like it was being broken because of the pain. My jaw and head felt like it was going to explode since the fear and the drug caused a sudden migraine attack. The doctor concluded it was related to anxiety since my blood pressure and everything else was normal, incredibly so. It took forever for my heart to settle back down so I had to wait in there for eternity. The machine they put me under twice felt like it was going to crush me and my claustrophobia went up but I controlled it.

Everyone else had the same feelings but anxiety makes everything worse. So much worse. So unnecessarily worse and that's the WORST part of the whole experience.
I felt terrible. I lashed out my husband all day. I felt like breaking off all of my friendships because no one got the way I was feeling so I felt ignored or like I wasn't being taken seriously. I still feel a grudge towards everyone and didn't want to call them when I got home to let them know I was okay and made it back but I called anyways. I couldn't live with myself if I hadn't.

Now I have to wait for the results and believe that my heart wasn't damaged somehow during the exams.
