Doctor was not concerned about lymph node
« on: December 11, 2013, 08:22:15 PM »
So I went to my OB doctor today for my 20 week anatomy scan of my twins. We found out that we are having twin girls and they are developing perfectly!  :happy0151: Anyway, I have been posting on here about a lymph node in my groin that I've been freaking out about. I had her feel it today and she said, "yep, just regular lymph nodes...you don't need to worry about them unless they are huge" Here I was thinking mine was enlarged but apparently not! I just hope I can trust what she said. I need to trust that an OB doctor would know a lot more than google!!

Groin lymph nodes are the usually larger than neck lymph nodes anyways. The Stanford guide on lymph node exams says generally they are not of concern in the groin until 3cm, which is pretty dang huge.

It's definitely amazing how worked up I get myself with these things weeks on end just to have a doctor feel it once and not be concerned at all. It's so ridiculous that everything you read on google basically makes you think that if you can even feel your lymph nodes then there's a problem. She was saying how it's completely normal to feel them. When I feel on my groin, I feel the nodes right away. She had to feel around for awhile and kind of had a confused look on her face as to what I was feeling. HA definitely plays tricks on the mind!

It Funny you say that Brooke as I have spent literally hours going over my neck every inch of it and low and behold can feel the tinyist of nodes. So small that even my gp and ENT said they cannot feel them!

I have actually caused open sores on my neck now from all the prodding! So my neck is killing me now. :(
