Sounds like a canker sore to me.  These are caused by a virus that is always present in your mouth and usually occur in a location that has had some kind of trauma (like biting your tongue or brushing too hard.)  They are harmless and usually heal within a week.  If the sore is painful or sensitive use anbesol for the discomfort.  They are not in any way related to cancer or anything else.  I hope this helps ease your mind.  Hang in there!

Definitely sounds like a canker sore, you can also get these from stress (great, right?) I get them from time to time, I actually have one now and I know trying to bite it off makes it worse, but I usually end up doing that and getting more of a sore area than before (and going into panic mode about cancer).  Try swishing around some very hot sea salt water in your mouth, it helps the pain almost immediately and the size of the sore will be smaller in the morning!

Your risk facort for this is incredibly low as a young non smoker and non drinker. From my own worries about this, I would have thought you are very unlikely to have OC.  So try to take comfort from this.

It's been there awhile my dentist just closed and did not bother to tell his patients so I'm seeing my regular Dr on Friday. Will he be able to ease my mind. :fragend005:
