I noticed that many people in this board has some weight issues.

While indeed a person without HA thinks that this is a dream come true, us HA sufferers will definitely think that it is a malignancy.

I just wanna see how many people here experience weight issues?

I have lost weight for the past 4 months without necessarily trying. For about a month, I have lost 7 lbs!

Anybody else here?

I lost about 10 pounds in three weeks or so when I started freaking out last April. Now that just does NOT happen for me. I usually gain weight by simply breathing. That was terrifying to me. Guess what, gained it all back. My doctor was not the least bit concerned and it frustrated me. I was sure I was dying if cancer! Nope, I wasn't eating enough for the amount of calories my body was burning being in a constant state of panic. My advice? Stop checking your weight and force feed yourself if you have to. In the process get that anxiety addressed.

This is pretty much exactly what I've gone through, and I agree with the advice!

Thank you steph and michelle,

I usually gain weigh easily too. It just shocks me that too many people keep saying that i lost weight.

It has come to the point that I am scared of meeting my other friends because they might say the same thing! HA is really ruining my life!

How did your doctor explain to you the weight loss?

Confession:  I have an extreme fear of unintentional weightloss...oh and I need to lose weight.  I've lost 22 pounds in 3 1/2 months ish or so (purposely on a diet)...and I have a ways to go.  But the fear of weight loss is irrational and not good at all...so not good that I just have to not get on a scale often.  Because I will freak out if I have lost weight.  I know, I know, it's insane...I do realize that.

But for my health, I really need to lose another 40 pounds....so what I'm doing is just weighing myself when I feel brave enough and just concentrating on healthy diet....and try to put it out of my mind.

So yes, even while on a strict diet...I do freak out if I have lost weight.  Sigh...

Hi Penny, thank you for sharing.

It seems that you lost weight purposely. That's really good to know. May I know if you also exercised? Or was it just the diet that caused the weight loss?

Well, because of this lingering fear I am again afraid of losing weight even on purpose. Even though if I will go back to exercise, the consequential weight loss will scare me to death!

I am also overweight and I am afraid of illness associated with being overweight or obese like high blood pressure, heart attack, etc. However, the weight loss also scares me because of you know what.

I am trying my best to cope with this. Today was somehow "okay". It could be better, it could definitely be worse. I just want a way out of this worrying.

skyisblue....some exercise...I've been walking.

I mean clearly I've been doing everything "right" to lose weight...but it still terrifies me...probably one of the reasons that I am overweight.

But while I'll never be "model thin" I want to be healthy and feel good...so I just got sick of it and got help.  But I can't tell you that it still doesn't scare me...because it does...but I must persist to reach a healthy and reasonable weight.

Hi Penny,

Thanks for the reply again. I agree -- it's just so difficult to lose weight the right way without thinking something worse.

And when I do gain weight, I panic about heart attacks and all that.

It's so hard to believe that this is just caused by stress.

Anybody else here who loses weight "unintentionally"?

I have an intense fear of having cancer. I've been dropping weight pretty steadily for the past couple months and it's freaking me out. I can only hope it's the anxiety...

Thanks everyone.

Duicati, I am like you. I usually gain weight really fast as I love eating! Now, this weird weight loss is driving me insane. I feel fine though in the physical aspect. I am still overweight, but I am scared it might go down further without me trying.

Mhmommy, I hope you are doing fine with your hypothyroid. I'm pretty sure it's manageable! I am afraid of the big C as well :(

Again, somebody this morning told me that I lost weight. Why is this happening :(
