Meds not working
« on: December 06, 2013, 07:29:20 PM »
I have been on so many meds, and I feel that they really are not working. I am scared, because to me this means that there is something more physical going on. I have been on Prozac, Effexor, Zoloft, and I take Ativan, which somedays does not help either. Any advice

Well what kind of symptoms are you having? You very well may have something physiological going on, but it doesn't necessarily mean it is caused by something sinister. Also, I found Valium more helpful than those short acting benzos like Ativan.  Perhaps try Cymbalta, as it is also an SNRI like Effexor but fewer side fx. It SHOULD be available as a generic now? Are you seeing a therapist?

Yes, I am seeing both a therapist and a psychiatrist. I have symptoms of fatigue, shakiness, dizziness and just not feeling right, this has been going on for many years, this is why I feel it's more of a physical problem, but doctors say no. Are you saying you also think it's a physical problem too??
