How long is this imbalancing/dizziness feel on going to last?
« on: December 06, 2013, 03:42:43 PM »
I was told that I have a significant amount of fluid in my ear when I went to see my practitioner. I went in because I was feeling dizzy and imbalanced. :( it's been 3 days. I started my z-pack 2 days ago and decongestant. I'm so scared. I've never felt like this before.

Being dizzy is definitely a nasty feeling. I too have that from time to time, and it usually starts as fluid in my ears due to seasonal allergies.

I will say from my own experience, the more I dwell on it, the worse it gets. I had myself dizzy for months on end, and all MRIs and Scans were normal -- I only remained dizzy because I couldn't stop obsessing about it.

I'm not saying that is what your doing...just something to watch out for :). Fluid on the ears is a pain (and to me is a scary symptom), but it will get better and go away.

Ear issues can persist. I had a terrible middle ear infection in March 2012, and when I went to the ENT, he
punctured my ear drum twice over a two week period as I had an infection and fluid. Eventually your symptoms will subside, but can be a pain in the meantime.

My ENT told me to wait it out. He told me that my ear infection was one of the worst he has
seen recently. He said the dizziness can persist a little while after the infection is gone. He told me that
eventually your brain straightens out your ear issues, but it may take time, or it can resolve quicker. My dizziness
lasted off and on for around 3 weeks or so if I recall.

I don't have an ear infection. Just fluid in my ear. It's making me freak out because of the dizziness when I'm walking. Will it ever go away????
