New medication-Vibryd?
« on: December 06, 2013, 10:19:03 AM »
My psychiatrist is interested in putting me on a new drug called Vibryd, has anyone been on this medication? She told me it is an anti-depressant that also has an anti-anxiety effect. How has it worked for you? Also, is it expensive? Thank you!

Most anti-depressants can also be used to treat anxiety disorders. Viibryd is just another variant of an SSRI. My understanding is that the chemistry of Viibryd includes components of Buspar, which is often prescribed as an adjunct medication for generalized anxiety sufferers. The result is a medication that claims to have less of some of the side-effects of straight SSRI's, particularly sexual disfunction.
