Burning pain in outer thigh, freaking me out!
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:51:48 PM »
I developed this 4 years ago with the birth of my first son. It was miserable. It finally went away, with a few flair ups. Well I just gave birth to my second son 12 days ago. And now it's back! I'm having burning pain in both my outer thighs and across my butt cheeks. Has anyone else suffered from this? Any ideas on how to relieve the pain? It's causing me massive anxiety and I just want to enjoy my newborn!! And also I'm paranoid about it being a clot.. BUT I've never had one and have had work ups for them (anxiety around them) and figured if it was a clot, it would have more symptoms.. I DK just having anxiety! Anyone else? Also the pain goes in one leg sometimes and than the other. I also called my drs office and spoke with a nurse, she said she had the same thing, and to give it time to heal.

Honestly with all the pressure we put on our backs to deliver children, I would not be a bit surprised is it's a bit of sciatic, and that pain can run down your legs and to your butt.  I've heard the best remedy for that is warm compresses and rest with stretching when getting up and down.  Won't hurt to give it a try!!

Thanks :) the anxiety around clots makes it worse. I'm guessing if it was a clot, it would be worse by now
