So after having about three weeks of this infection of tonsils, whereby my right tonsil was quite a bit larger than my left tonsil, i went to the ER last night where i was checked out by an ENT in training. I querried whether it could be cancer and he announced that he is 100% certain it's not some sort of a malignant process, be it lymphoma (which is my great fear) or SSC, but to put me at rest he gave me a refferal to the specialist. To my great surprise i was able to make the appointment today and it was rather surprising, the appointment itself. I went there half expecting to be sent for an immediate CT scan or biopsy or god knows what, but in stead this guy took a quick look, remarked that it doesn't look really bad, some swelling on the right tonsil. Of course i said i am concerned it might be cancer, to which he replied, simillarly to the ENT in training that it does not look like cancerous tissue at all. Didn't even bother to check my lymph nodes, however i insisted so he did, proclaimed that there is nothing abnormal about them again much like the ENT in training who said that they feel "pathologically normal/healthy" or something like that. At this point i hoped he'd give me an opportunity to voice some more concerns but he kinda almost kicked me out of his office, in a nice way xD, had no choice but to leave. In addition he said in case these infections continue bothering me i can always come back in six weeks and have the tonsils removed. So now i have three doctors telling me it is not cancer, my GP, the ENT in training at the ER and the ENT specialist. The issue is of course i am still scared shitless. Any word of advice from someone perhaps ?
