I'm a 41 year-old male and I started having general anxiety issues since this past spring. Job stress, looking after my older father, and I thought I had a heart scare (ending up being panic attacks after drinking coffee) put me into a really high anxiety ball. Even though things are better, I am still suffering from at least moderate to sometimes heavy anxiety. It's as if my nervous system got out of whack and never simmered back down. It has also significantly taken a toll on my sleep. I've only experimented with a few medications, but so far as I am seeing a sleep doctor and he is fairly open to letting me try different medications that make sense. However, with the few I've tried, not much has worked (except for Trazodone for sleep, but did nothing for my anxiety and started giving me really bad lightheadness after being on 125 mg for a couple of months.). I very briefly tried Doxepin and Mirtazapine but those did nothing for my sleep. I also tried Zoloft to easy anxiety, but had to stop after 4 days as I literally could not sleep on it. It was really bizarre. I've been on Buspar for the last five days and not seeing too much from it so far, nor is it helping my sleep. Hoping to get some input and suggestions, thanks and nice to meet everyone.
