I struggling horribly with panic attacks for years. The fear of fainting is pretty common with panic disorder, as is the fear of 'freaking out' in public. The two are kind of intertwined, IMHO. With panic, we fear having the NEXT attack....so precipitory anxiety builds. When will it happen? Where will I be? Will I be driving my car with NOWHERE to turn? Will I be in a movie or in class or in a meeting or on a date, etc? OMG, I just know I'm gonna faint one of these days and everybody will see me and I'll never be able to show my face again!. Man, it is tough dealing with panic disorder....it can creep into many, many facets of our lives and it can have a pervasive detrimental affect. It CAN, but it doesn't have to:) We can learn about and embrace and practice actions, habits, techniques and mindsets that can really help us learn how to live better alongside our challenges.
