Although, I'm sure this has been answered a million times over, I've scoured the internet for days and never found a straight answer. A little background on my situation; I have mild to moderate anxiety and due to stresses over the last couple of months I've dropped a noticeable amount of weight and had my first anxiety attack about 3 weeks ago (Per the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack.) I've always been a high-strung person, but this has been a whole new experience for me. I've seen doctors in the past who always want to put me on antidepressants, they never work because I know I'm not depressed, just anxious and I don't really care to be on any Rx medications if I can avoid it. I do eat healthy about 85% of the time and I am a fairly active person. I've been taking 600-900 mg of St. John's Wort a day for the past 5-6 months, as far as I can tell it does take the edge off. But, in light of what recently happened I've been exploring other vitamins and natural remedies to take in addition to SJW to see if it makes a difference. I've loosely based this combination after a few of the anxiety combo supplements I've seen and I just would like some opinions on whether this combination is safe or not (Not necessarily how effective it is because I know that would vary from person to person). For the last 2 days I've been taking:
Am: A multi, 300mg St. John's Wort, B-Complex and 1,000 IU D-3
Pm: 300mg St. John's Wort, 500mg Rhodiola and 200mg L-Theanine
I did take 5-htp for 2 days with these, but it gave me headaches and made feel kind of out of it so I discontinued that and since have felt better.
Anyways, just some opinions or advice would be very helpful as Iím pretty new to all of this. Thanks!
