I've always had a level of anxiety over the years. 3 Years ago it got BAD, after numerous trips to the doctors, waking up feeling sick or lightheaded, panicky, worryful, on edge ringing in my ears, the list goes on and on, the meds didn't work, i turned to my own option. Losing some weight, quitting smoking changing my diet and running.
That was a little over 2 years ago after a solid year of day to day anxiety to the point i was MISERABLE and a lifetime of day to day anxiety.. I implimented the lifestyle change. Ever since that week of 2 years ago that i started running and eating right (and stuck with it, i've run numerous marathons and numerous half marathons, i run sometimes 10 or more miles a day) I am yet to ever have anxiety again. I still have some day to day stuff, but i'm not sick, I haven't even had a cold in 2 years. NOT EVEN A COLD.
Now why am i saying this? I'm saying this because i want others to understand medicine isn't the trick sometimes, had i listened to the doc and took the anti depressants anti anxiety meds i was prescribed i would of thought they were working in actuality it is my diet/lifestyle change. running in general is proven to release healthy endorphins into your blood after a long run which make you feel great/amazing, some days after i go running i have a "buzz" all day that is better than any medicine you can ever have it truly lifts your mood.
So, if you're in a rut, waking up feeling like crap, your chest tight, dizzy ect. Please just at least try to get out of the house, change your diet and run, just run for 10 mins at first and bump it up so you are doing at least 30mins of good cardio a day. I used to have severe insomnia back 2 years ago as well, that is gone also as well as my sleep apnea, It's hard to not sleep when you are tired from a day at work and a good cardio session, you're body can fix itself. I was in your shoes 3 years ago, i was helpess. Just listen, quit smoking, quit huge amounts of caffeine and change your mindset, there is hope.
(If you don't believe me.. Look at my post history!, i was a nut 2 years ago)
