Hi, MS is not an uncommon fear those of us with HA have. I recently went to a neurologist for fears of MS. My symptoms started out much like yours, tingling, neck pain, and SEVERAL other symptoms. Stupidly, I went and got an MRI even though the doctor told me that I had nothing to worry about, and what do you know, nothing looked abnormal on my test. One thing that you absolutely have to know about MS is that even if you do have it (which i'm sure you don't), it's not generally all that bad. Most people with MS live average life spans, obviously with help from meds and knowing what you should and shouldn't do.
This helped me a lot when I was worried..I thought for sure it meant I was going to be useless and a burden on society..but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
My doctor also told me what I'm suffering from is probably Conversion or Somatization disorder (Look them up, interesting stuff.) While they are not fun disorders to live with, they are far better than some alternatives, and treatable with knowledge and counseling. Basically, it means that our anxiety and fears stress out our bodies so much that it gives us physical symptoms. Obviously i'm not saying that you have one of these, as they are also uncommon disorders, but MS, even though it is a very variable disease, it also generally follows a similar pattern for most patients, and from what my doctor explained, and from what you have told us, it does not sound like you have any of these signs.
Sorry for the long post, but I hope it helps. I sincerely hope you feel better soon..OH, and doesn't it sort of make sense now why your symptoms started or got worse when you looked up symptoms for MS? ;)
