for the past few months I've been really tired around my "time of month", along with being hungry a lot; stress, heart palpitations, occasional chills, a typical low body temperature of around 96.5 - 97.9 (this has been for years, except after I eat for some reason, or have eaten a lot), and my nails grow fast, I urinate frequently, etc. I've come to the conclusion I probably have a very fast metabolism. I stopped working out about a year ago due to injury where I couldn't during that time - and all I've done is relax, eat, and go to school - and I haven't gained a single pound.
I'm 5'6 and 123lbs. I'm within where healthy range should definitely be. I'm not underweight or overweight. I asked my pharmacist about the temperature and she said it was absolutely nothing to worry about (meaning it wouldn't harm me).
However.. due to this, I'm very concerned about thyroid issues as this is often a cause for a fast metabolism.
And it's also a chain reaction because the fact that Graves autoimmune disease is a possible cause of an overactive thyroid (and is apparently common? I read that somewhere - bad I know - no googling should be permitted. I'm curious as to how common this actually is, if anyone knows?) has slipped into my head, and is terrifying the living heck out of me. I do intend on speaking with my family doctor (she is hard to get a hold of) and have a referral for some bloodwork to be done (I haven't had a general physical in a long time regardless, so a checkup won't hurt with or without these symptoms).. but does anyone have any advice or experience with this in the meantime while I'm playing the phone-tag and the waiting game?
It's worrying me sick - of course, I'm scared of the bad symptoms that could occur - heart failure being one of many.
Any information or advice would really be appreciated... thank you.
