To begin with I would like to describe myself first. I am a 26 years old male, around 5' 9'' and 140 pounds. Blood pressure is normally(not the last 2 weeks) at around 110/60, no cholesterol and no history of heart disease in the family. I am a smoker, but I don't do any drugs or alcohol and I almost never exercise.
For the past year or so, I have been constantly worrying about my health. Everything started back in October 2012 when I started getting pain on my whole right side of my body. Not having insurance back then, I decided to deal with it and do nothing about it. After my insurance started around January 2013 everything seems to be getting worse. I started with fear for my heart back then. I went to the doctor, who did a blood test, EKG, holter monitor and everything came back normal. After that it was my brain, pressure headaches started and I felt that something was wrong with me. I had an MRI of the brain, just to be reassured once again that I am fine.
Not too long ago, about a month or so, I started college, together with work. I have to say that I was/am under a lot of stress combining the two, but I want a better future for myself and my loved ones. I have been worrying all the time about diseases that I might get(e.g. west nile virus, bird flu and more), ones that I do already have(heart disease, brain disease, liver problems, kidney problems, e.t.c) and what I can do about them.
Since Friday the 13th of September my life had been hell. That night, after eating, I had a pain on the left side of my chest and being totally sure that it was heart related, I rushed to the Urgent Care department. The doctor did an 2 EKG's(first one showed some PVC's, second one was fine), blood work and chest x-rays. He did a d-dimer test, which came back positive and put me in for a CT scan of the chest. Everything came back negative and they released me.
I have been to the doctor 10 times in the last 2 weeks. Primary care(3 times), Urgent Care(3 times), therapist and psychiatrist, Cardiologist(2 times) with various testings including in total : 6 EKG's, 3 blood works, chest x-ray, ct of the chest, 24 hour holter monitor, stress test(today). I have changed 3 doctor's in the past 9 months, because I think that none of them are taking my concerns seriously.
I have heart palpitations(all day), chest pain(various places, different feeling each time, almost all the time), racing heart and the list goes on. I am almost certain that something is wrong with my heart and that especially my chest pains are surely cardiac related. I have started for the past 2 weeks medication(Celexa, 10mg that I need to raise today) and Ativan 0.5mg as needed.
I moved in the United Stated 2 years ago(my family is all back in my country), got married, started a new job and just started college. I haven't been able to enjoy my life at all for the past 2 weeks and I feel that I will never be my old self again.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated. I do apologize for the long post.
