Hey everyone, I am a 27 year old female who has had anxiety issues for the last few years never anything major until last week.
I was sitting on the couch with my fiance and everything was fine, we had a great day we were just sitting down to watch the season finale of Futurama and about 10 mins in I got this wave of hot/cold/tingling/nausea over my whole body which promptly went away and then came back I tried to breath it off and focus on the show but it got so bad that my hands and especially my left are were numb and tingling. Of course like most people who fist suffer I thought I was having a heart attack I grabbed my bf and went to the bathroom where I threw up a little and then stood under a cold shower to try and stop myself from feeling so warm. I kept almost blacking out and wound up asking to be taken to the hospital, after waiting for 4 hours a doctor did my bloodwork, told me I was fine and sent me home. He didn't tell me what I had experienced was a panic attack and for the next 3 days I felt very weak and disconnected, I went back the 3rd night because I felt so wrong and I didn't know what else to do. The same doctor treated me he walked in and said 'oh you again' I asked him if what I had felt was panic and he said yes, he asked me if I sleep well and I said no so he gave me about a weeks worth of 1mg Ativan to take twice a day (I only take one when I feel something coming on or before bed so I can sleep) I have read a lot of posts on here and it's helped me deal but I do have a question and I am hoping you guys could help me out... please please please help me out?
It happened almost a week ago and I am still feeling a very tired sensation in my left arm mainly around the bicep as well as a tight sensation in my chest on the left side (not over the heart closer to the shoulder) it comes and goes but has me kind of worried as I thought these symptoms would stop after a few days. It's not so strong that it stops me in my tracks but it is worrysome and when I asked the doc he just said 'your tests are normal'.
Do you guys feel the same way after an attack? Or was it like this after your first one? I was told by a friend of mine that the first one is always the worst. Anyone else have arm issues? Please help if you can... thank you so much.
I posted this awhile ago, it's been weeks since it happened and I am still feeling fairly lethargic and disconnected. I go in to see a family doctor on thursday. Most of the tension in my arm is gone but I do still feel pressure in my chest on a daily basis that comes and goes. Still feel drained, it also comes and goes.
Please is this normal?
