I wrote a few days ago about having issues with my neck and I am still having them. I was super stressed to the max on Monday bc of school and my anxiety has been sky high. A few months ago I noticed I had slight pain at the base of my skull and the weird tightness and light pain would occur when I moved in a certain way (such as putting on a backpack) anyway it went away eventually and I didn't worry about it anymore. Well this week I was studying all weekend and I was slumping on a couch and looking down. Again, I am having the same pain at the base of my neck and this time it was worse. I feel like there is a tightness on one side of my head and the pain is in my neck. It's mostly a dull pain and it is on and off. Heat helps as does ibuprofen when I take it. I know this problem originally started because of trauma, when I was pulling someone up on a bed sideways at work. I. Have done it many times since (I am a CNA.) I somehow came across occipital neuralgia and it is a nerve that is traumatized. The symptoms from being caused by trauma (at work) to lookingdown and forward for along time (studying) seem to match up. also the location of where my tightness and pain seems to be located right where the nerve is. It suggests bed rest and ibuprofen. I have not been sleeping or resting at all because I am in nursing school. Has anyone ever had this before or heard of it? I am going to see how this weekend goes (had this pain since Sunday night) and if its not better by monday I will make an appt with someone. I am not even sure what doctor would treat this. But then again I do not have insurance and I don't want to go in and have them tell me bed rest and ibuprofen which is what I have been doing. My anxiety I am sure hasn't been helping this because I keep thinking I have a brain tumor
so I tense up even more and it feels worse. Has anyone had this before? What did you do?
