so, this is WAY out there(i hope), but thought i'd ask my fellow HA sufferers.
my friend's brother-in-law is very sick and they do not know what is wrong with him. he just woke up one morning and could hardly walk. his face is partially numb, his arm is numb, he has no appetite and is starting have shortness of breath. he has been to the ER 3 times and had several tests(mri, ct, but not sure what else). they cannot figure it out.
so, my friend went to his house to see him saturday, then came over to my house. as we were talking the subject of what his illness might be came up. i excused myself when my other friend started suggesting what illnesses he might have because i knew it would trigger my anxiety. so, i left the room, but before i left, she was suggesting that it could be polio. she knew that polio was making a comeback and blah blah blah.
she is a very smart woman, and not anxious about anything...by the way
anyway, i know in the back of my mind that i had read once about polio coming back. are we still protected at 50 years old? is my 12 year old son protected or did they stop giving polio vaccine now because it was supposedly gone? lastly, surely my family's odds of getting this(or whatever he might have)are zero just from my friend coming over, right? (i'm wondering what is lurking on my doorknobs!)
ok. i'm not googling and i'm trying not to worry. so, any help with me staying sane would help :)
