Congratulations on 9 days smoke free!!!! Keep up the good work!!
I've just reached my 3 years mark of being smoke free.....I smoked a lot more than you did and I am quite a bit older than you as well. I smoked for almost 30 years, at 2 packs a day!!!! I quit cold turkey. How are you quitting?
I can tell you from experience, when you cut out that smoking it gives your body a lot of different feelings, aches and pains, but remember, these are all GOOD, because it's a sign that your body is now adjusting to being smoke free. When you have one of these aches and pains, just try and think to yourself, "Great!!! My body is flushing out all that crap and getting healthy again!" Just remember, when you smoked, you had a lot less lung power.....so now by not smoking, your lungs can expand and that may very well be what your pain is.....like I said, it's a GOOD thing!!!!
I also think you may be suffering from some anxiety over quitting as well, and that's why you have more time to concentrate on little aches and pains.....you aren't taking up your time with smoking, you are taking up your time with worrying about what your body is feeling. Do yourself a favor and use some of that money you are saving by not smoking to do something good for yourself....invest in a new craft or hobby to keep your hands and mind busy. Treat yourself, you deserve it!!
Congratulations again, and keep me posted!!
