Waking up same time every morning, hot and shaky
« on: August 31, 2013, 03:15:17 PM »
Since I've been dealing with daily panic attacks again, I have been waking up at 4am every morning feeling shaky and hot. I have self diagnosed it as low blood sugar so I eat something, which sort of helps, but the wired feeling lingers, and I feel like I want to run out of my apartment. Sometimes it's accompanied by a racing heart.

Anyone else experience similar early morning wake up calls?

Yeah, has to do with serotonin or something. People with serious anxiety often wake up to their heart pounding. =/ Sucks...

Thank you, that makes sense for me because the anxiety is starting to cause depression. Low serotonin makes a lot of sense.

Another sign is if it takes you like 1-2 hours to go to sleep. When you start to "go under" or whatever, that's brain chemistry.

I've been waking up with my heart pounding forever.

If it gets worse, you won't be able to sleep for more than like 4-5 hours at a time, and you'll wake up with hot flashes (sweats or whatever). That's not fun :/
